Job Description\n Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg\n Discipline: RN\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n RN Med/Surg Neuro – 12-Hour Nights\n Department: Med/Surg Neuro – 4th Floor NorthSetting: Acute Care, Level I Trauma CenterShift: 12-hour nights, 6:30 PM–7:00 AMEMR: EpicBSN Required: NoLicense to Submit: YesKey Submission Rules\n \n 50-mile radius rule\n Driver’s license required at submission and used to verify radius\n Candidate cannot currently or previously have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity\n No license or background hits\n Travel experience preferred, but strong first-time travelers may be considered\n Required Certifications\n \n AHA BLS\n NIHSS\n Unit\n \n 25 beds\n Typical RN ratio: 1:5–6\n PCT/CNA ratio: approximately 1:10–20\n Charge RN available on each shift and may take an assignment\n Patient Population\n Med/Surg Neuro patients include:\n \n Stroke\n Stable neurological deficits\n Post-neurosurgery patients\n Joint replacements\n Fractures\n Ortho trauma\n Colon resections\n COPD exacerbations\n Prostatectomy\n Cellulitis\n Sepsis\n GI bleeds\n Pneumonia\n Failure to thrive\n Other Med/Surg Tele overflow\n Drips / Skills\n RNs may manage:\n \n Heparin\n Lidocaine\n Ketamine\n PCA pumps\n \n Telemetry technicians interpret rhythms, but RNs should have basic telemetry awareness.Floating\n Travelers may float to:\n \n Other Med/Surg units\n Areas holding Med/Surg patients awaiting an inpatient bed\n Scheduling\n \n Nights: 6:30 PM–7:00 AM\n Travelers are scheduled by the facility\n Limited block scheduling may be approved\n At least every other weekend\n Additional weekend shifts may be required based on census\n 2–3 holidays between Thanksgiving and New Year’s\n Orientation\n \n 2 days unit-specific orientation\n RNs must complete a Pass/Fail exam on Friday of orientation\n Exam is open book\n Resources are provided\n 90% minimum passing score\n Failure to pass results in termination of the assignment\n Scrubs\n Navy Blue\n Strong Med/Surg Neuro opportunity with 1:5–6 ratios, Epic, Level I Trauma exposure, and neuro/tele patient variety.
