Scale House Attendant

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Required: 14 years of previous work experience. Strong customer service and communication skills. Basic computer, data entry, and math skills for processing payments and reports. Needs MS outlook, teams and Excel.

Summary: The Scale House Attendant serves as the first point of contact for customers depositing waste at a client facility. This role is responsible for greeting customers, verifying load contents, calculating payments, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The attendant plays a key role in maintaining smooth traffic flow and upholding safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and direct customers and site traffic in a courteous and professional manner
• Accurately calculate and process payments for client deposits
• Inspect incoming loads to ensure they are safe and free of prohibited materials
• Enforce safety rules and ensure all customers and employees wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Scale House
• Complete administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and report generation
• Communicate any issues or concerns to the immediate supervisor promptly
• Attend company-sponsored training and meetings as required
• Work overtime as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned, including minor customer service responsibilities
• Maintain a friendly, service-oriented approach in all interactions with customers, employees, and vendors
