Full-Time | Day Shift | Varied Schedule
A leading hospital system is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join its Laboratory team. This position is ideal for a candidate who enjoys working directly with patients, thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care and specimen collection services.
The Phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining blood specimens and other samples for laboratory analysis while ensuring proper patient identification, specimen handling, and adherence to safety and infection control protocols.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Day Shift
- Varied Schedule: 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Weekends and holidays required
Compensation
- Salary Range: $42,000 – $61,000 annually
- Compensation based on experience, education, certifications, and internal equity
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection on patients of all age groups
- Properly identify, label, process, and accession specimens
- Follow laboratory and hospital protocols for specimen collection and handling
- Utilize laboratory and hospital information systems accurately
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment while following universal precautions
- Prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Maintain inventory and organization of supplies
- Provide excellent customer service and professional communication with patients and staff
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Participate in departmental meetings, in-services, and competency programs
- Cross-train in additional laboratory functions as needed
- Assist with pre-operative patient information when applicable
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Basic computer skills required
Experience
- Previous phlebotomy experience preferred
- Previous healthcare experience preferred
Certifications
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred where applicable
