Training & HR SpecialistThe Training & HR Specialist is a key member of the Commercial and Turf HR teams, helping deliver best-in-class service to the business as part of a trusted, cross-functional HR team. This role supports onboarding, training coordination, HR operations, and business initiatives across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, service-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a collaborative team environment. Success in this role requires a strong focus on building quality relationships, responding efficiently, and working effectively across business areas and organizational levels.This role has the flexibility to be based at Plant 72 in Dalton, GA, or Plant CX in Cartersville, GA. Regular travel between the Create Centre campus in Cartersville, Dalton locations, and the Calhoun Turf facilities is required based on onboarding schedules and business needs. The selected candidate must be available to work on-site as needed, including supporting in-person onboarding activities a minimum of three days per week across the supported locations.Scope of Responsibilities:Serve as a primary onboarding resource for new team members across the Commercial and Turf businesses, including both salaried and hourly associatesPartner with Talent Acquisition, hiring managers, and HR team members to ensure a smooth transition from the recruiting process through the new hire's first day and onboarding experienceComplete and/or assist with in-person and virtual I-9s for new hires in supported locationsManage onboarding schedules, training calendars, and key onboarding milestonesCreate, maintain, and continuously improve new-hire onboarding and equipment checklistsCoordinate with hiring managers to identify equipment, software, system access, distribution lists, workspace, badge, and other onboarding needsOrder and coordinate new-hire equipment and ensure required items are available before the associate's start dateCoordinate the new hire's first-day experience, including workspace preparation, welcome materials, equipment distribution, introductions, and connection with the appropriate leader or teamCoordinate and maintain onboarding resources, materials, and communications for new hiresAssist with mailing and distribution of onboarding and welcome materialsSupport offboarding activities as neededSupport training logistics, including meeting coordination, participant communication, registration, materials preparation, and event executionMaintain and organize talent development resources, guides, learning content, and training recordsCoordinate participant surveys, feedback collection, and training evaluations to support continuous improvementProvide administrative and coordination support for talent development projects and initiativesTurf HR Business Partner SupportSupport onboarding for Turf associates, including hourly installer positions, and serve as an on-site HR resource for new hires, associates, and leaders as neededMaintain Workday transactional tasks supporting associates and HR partners with status changes, job changes, personal changes, and other associate updatesProcess terminations for assigned locations as needed and provide related offboarding supportMaintain record-retention systems for divisional and associate filesSupport reporting and administrative needs for Turf HR business partnersConnect with associates to provide reminders regarding compliance requirements, assignments, and reportingMaintain job description files and related documentation for the Turf businessSupport employee engagement activities and HR initiatives within the Turf businessVP of Human Resources SupportMaintain the calendar for the VP of Human ResourcesCoordinate travel arrangements and support expense reporting for the VP of Human ResourcesProvide meeting and scheduling support for the VP of Human ResourcesAssist with events, celebrations, and other team activities as neededBusiness Flex & Team SupportPlan, coordinate, and/or support AX events for the HR team and business groupsCoordinate team events, celebrations, flowers, gifts, and other recognition needs as requestedHelp create visuals, presentations, and communication materials for HR and business initiativesSupport special projects, process improvements, and business initiatives as assignedMaintain US Bank p-card charges and complete monthly reconciliationCreate requisitions and process purchase orders for invoices, gift card orders, supplies, office equipment, and other business needsRequirementsMinimum of two (2) years of professional experience in HR, training, learning, talent development, onboarding, administrative support, or a related areaAbility to work independently and manage changing prioritiesAbility to coordinate activities across multiple locationsAbility to travel regularly between Dalton, Cartersville, and Calhoun based on business and onboarding needsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting Commercial and/or Turf business divisionsWorking knowledge of Workday and related administrative systemsExperience completing I-9s and supporting new-hire onboardingExperience supporting hourly associate populations or manufacturing environmentsExperience coordinating training, surveys, feedback, or program evaluationsAnticipated Time Allocation by AreaTalent Development, Training & Onboarding: 50%Turf HR Partnership: 25%Business Flex / Special Projects: 15%VP of HR Support: 10%CompetenciesInitiate ActionInfluence OthersBuild Customer SatisfactionDeliver Compelling CommunicationInnovateWork Shift: 8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AMShaw Industries is an equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
