Under the guidance of program leadership and social work professionals, the foster parent provides compassionate care and support to youth placed in their home. This role involves creating a warm, stable, and secure environment that promotes the well-being and development of each child.

Essential Functions

• Offer a nurturing and safe home atmosphere for children in care.
• Supervise daily activities and routines at home, school, and within the community.
• Assist in developing and implementing treatment goals aligned with the youth's care plan.
• Participate in regular staff meetings and monthly supervision sessions.
• Complete required documentation such as behavior reports, assessments, summaries, medication logs, and monthly reviews.
• Engage in ongoing training to maintain licensure and effectively meet the needs of children in care.
• Report any unusual or critical incidents promptly.
• Provide transportation as needed to support treatment plans.
• Collaborate with service providers, schools, and families to foster positive relationships and support the child's progress.
• Work closely with the child's family to strengthen relationships and facilitate reunification when appropriate.
• Manage challenging behaviors using approved training and discipline policies.

Minimum Requirements

• Successful completion of an extensive background check including fingerprinting.
• Strong organizational skills and intermediate proficiency with MS Office applications.

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Valid foster care license.
• Current driver's license, insurance, and reliable vehicle.
