Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele (Neuro Tele) position at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TX or compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• 13-week contract
• MS/Tele unit with a neuro telemetry focus
• Short-term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds, designated as a Level II Trauma Center
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Floating between units is required; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
• Floating between sister facilities within the state may also be required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule are required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Clinical skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry remote monitoring, IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral line care, respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management), and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Neurological/psychiatric case experience includes CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, post-TPA care, substance withdrawal, spinal cord injury, pre/post neurosurgery, aneurysms, and craniotomy (neuro cases preferred but not all required)

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in MS/Tele or Neuro Tele setting
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Candidates must disclose any prior employment at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per diem), including location and dates

Additional Information

• First-time travelers with at least 1 year of experience are welcome to apply
• Solid navy blue scrubs are required for licensed nursing personnel; print tops are not acceptable
• Free surface parking is available on-site
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are accepted; the radius may affect pay rate eligibility
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning in a travel capacity and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
• Candidates with Nursys or background check hits will not be considered by this facility
