Gastroenterology Physician

We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist with ABIM certification and GI fellowship training for a locum tenens opportunity in Southern California . This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-supported facility and provide high-quality care to patients with a full spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions.

• Schedule: 7a-7a 24 hour call and response to inpatient procedures as needed.
  

• Licensure: Active CA license required

• Evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, treatment, and management of patients with GI tract disorders including:

  • Esophagus, stomach, small & large intestines

  • Liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and biliary system

• Admit to inpatient care and perform history and physical examinations

• Medical management of general conditions encountered during GI care

Endoscopic Procedures:

• Upper GI endoscopy (EGD) with biopsy, hemostasis, variceal banding, dilation, stent placement

• Colonoscopy with biopsy, polypectomy, dilation, stent placement

• Capsule endoscopy

• Proctoscopy and/or flexible sigmoidoscopy

• Complete enteroscopy including DBE

• Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG)

• Use of energy sources (non-laser) during endoscopic procedures

ERCP Experience Required:

• Biliary manometry

• Sphincterotomy and stone extraction

• Placement of biliary/pancreatic stents

• Nasobiliary drainage

Additional Requirements:

• Moderate Sedation Certification test required

• Fluoroscopy privileges non-core (preferred)
