Dermatology Physician Opportunity - Duluth, MN Position Overview

Essentia Health is seeking a Dermatology Physician for a Locum Tenens assignment at Essentia Health Duluth Clinic (3rd Street Building) in Duluth, MN. This is a scheduled clinical hours only position to support extra volume. The assignment is available on an ongoing basis with multiple week-long blocks available throughout 2026 and 2027 (October 2026 through April 2027 and beyond).

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages with benign and malignant disorders of the integumentary system, including:

Diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers, moles, and other tumors of the skin Management of contact dermatitis, allergic and non-allergic skin disorders, and skin manifestations of systemic and infectious diseases Management of cosmetic disorders of the skin, such as hair loss, scars, and age-related skin changes Interpretation of tissue sections, cellular scrapings, and smears of skin lesions Simple excision and repair procedures Skin and nail biopsies Dermatologic surgery, electrosurgery, and cryosurgery (no Mohs or cosmetic surgery) Schedule and Work Environment

This position offers:

Monday-Friday, days only 15-20 minute appointment length Time blocked for lunch In-clinic and virtual visits No holidays No call coverage Approximately 24-32 patient encounters per shift Equipment and Technology

Providers will have access to:

DAX AI Essentia Health phone Webcam and headset DermLite Hyfrecators Epic EMR System Candidate Requirements MD or DO with board certification in Dermatology (board eligible minimum) Dermatology fellowship required Valid medical license No specific certifications required (ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS not required) Hospital privileges not required Malpractice insurance provided by vendor Compensation and Terms

Regular rate capped at $400/hour. Flexible rate structure includes options for guaranteed hours, orientation, overtime, holiday pay, per diem, and call arrangements as needed.
