Nurse Clinician II

The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) has knowledge and skills necessary to meet standards for professional practice specified in Texas Nursing Practice Act and by HCHD Nursing Service. The practice patterns of competent generalists are characterized by the application of standards, principles, and algorithms to clinical situations. The NCII independently and safely manages patients with problems common to patients in his/her assigned clinical area; recognizes when he/she needs assistance and seeks appropriate resources.

Qualified candidates must be adept at preparing patients for endoscopic procedures, assisting physicians in a procedural-suite environment, and ensuring safe patient recovery post-procedures. They should excel in managing rapid patient turnover while consistently upholding high standards of quality and safety. Additionally, they need to work independently amidst fast workflow changes and demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and patient-focused care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:
• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred
• Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas; Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program; Other certificates as required by unit/service.
• Work Experience: One (1) year full time RN experience - Nursing

• Bilingual Skills Preferred
• Special Language Skills: Must be adequate to meet the following communication requirements: Accurately interprets and transmits clinical information in English, both verbally and in written form; and Sends and receives messages patients/families/SOs can comprehend.
• Other Skills: Mathematics, Medical Terms, P.C.
• Advanced Education: Bachelor's Degree Major: Nursing / BSN Preferred
• Work Schedule: Weekends, Holidays, Flexible, On Call
• Other Requirements: N/A
