Radiology Technologist Flex

32 hour minimum per 4 weeks, 32 weekend minimum per quarter. Scope of Work Performs quality diagnostic exams after verification of patient identification and physician order. Ensures STAT requests are relayed to the radiologist in a timely manner. Acquires an accurate patient history and documents it in the medical record. Provides procedural information and education to the patient/family prior to each exam. Performs radiographic and related patient care procedures using age‑appropriate methods for the patient’s physical ability and/or limitations. Monitors patients during procedures to ensure patient safety. Demonstrates proficiency in operating diagnostic imaging equipment and follows policy for any malfunctions or quality control failures. Ensures equipment is wiped down between patients and the exam room is clean and properly stocked. Utilizes ALARA standards for minimizing radiation exposure to patient, staff and self. Contributes to effective operations of the department by assisting fellow employees and staying in compliance with quality assurance and quality control. Assists with the training of students/new hires. Accurately and efficiently uses hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS. Maintains competency in all assigned areas including, but not limited to, fluoroscopic, general diagnostic, orthopedic, and operating procedures. Qualifications Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited radiography program. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within six months of hire date. One year of relevant experience (training gained at student level is accepted). Certified CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association (required upon hire). Certified CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – ARC American Red Cross (required upon hire).
