Licensed Practical Nurse - Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home (Part-Time)

Position Overview The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs is seeking dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses to provide superior care to residents at the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home. This role is part of a long‑term care facility where you will plan, implement, and evaluate resident care in collaboration with Registered Nurses while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Responsibilities Plan, implement, and evaluate all assigned resident care for a licensed practical nurse function. Collaborate with a Registered Nurse to ensure adherence to HIPAA standards. Work Hours & Compensation Part‑time employment; 40 hours biweekly. Position available on 1st Shift 06:45 am – 3:15 pm. Position available on 2nd Shift 2:45 pm – 11:15 pm. Work every other weekend. Telework: not available. Salary for new hires: $67,558.00 (before taxes). Eligible for the Nursing Referral Program, which may provide payments of up to $4,000 to referring employees and referred candidates. Qualifications Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania. Employees with a temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within one year, as defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. PA residency requirement is waived for this title. Within 60 days of completing an approved licensed practical nursing program; must provide proof of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license at appointment. Able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements Satisfactory medical examination may be required. Position is covered by the Older Adult Protective Services Act, requiring submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police and FBI clearance.
