Clinical Research Associate

Position Overview The USC Keck School of Medicine – Alzheimer Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI) is an academic institute located in San Diego, California. This role provides oversight of clinical trials at study sites, ensuring compliance with the protocol, SOPs, GCP, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Provide oversight to the progress of clinical trials at study sites and ensure they are conducted, recorded, and reported in accordance with protocol and SOPs. Support the Medical Safety team and Clinical Monitors with duties such as tracking in Excel, data cleaning, and site correspondence. Evaluate and review primary outcome data as outlined in the Monitoring Plan and monitor safety measures. Ensure the reliability, validity, and integrity of data through source document verification, remote source document review with EDC, and generating queries as appropriate. Participate in the execution of clinical trials and monitor them in accordance with GCP and industry partner expectations. Interact closely with Clinical Monitors and Quality Assurance to review Monitor Visit Reports per GCP guidelines, internal SOPs, and Monitoring Plans before uploading to the eTMF. Initiate NTFs as applicable based on review of Monitor Visit Reports and upload clinical monitoring documents to the eTMF. Review and evaluate clinical test results and interview data to ensure that all assessments are rated, scored, and standardized. Review and report on the quality and integrity of clinical data. Location & Compensation San Diego, CA Hourly rate range: $36.36 – $50.90 Preferred Experience Experience in Alzheimer's Disease research is preferred. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education/experience). Less than 1 year of experience in clinical trial monitoring. Familiarity with monitoring of clinical trials and medical terminology. Understanding of drug development process. Knowledge of ICH guidelines, GCP, and FDA regulations pertaining to clinical trials. Knowledge of local and/or national regulations related to clinical trials and monitoring. Preferred Qualifications 2 years of experience in clinical trials. Experience with monitoring clinical trials and medical terminology. Experience in the drug development process. Knowledge of ICH guidelines, GCP, and FDA regulations pertaining to clinical trials.
