We are seeking an experienced Merchant Acquiring Risk & Governance Manager to support risk oversight, governance, and compliance initiatives across merchant acquiring and payments operations. You will partner closely with business, compliance, operations, and third-party partners to ensure acquiring activities align with card network rules, regulatory requirements, and internal risk standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee merchant acquiring risk and governance activities across payment operations
- Monitor compliance with Visa, Mastercard, and card network operating regulations
- Conduct risk assessments covering operational, compliance, fraud, and reputational risk
- Support governance frameworks, controls, KRIs, issue tracking, and remediation activities
- Review merchant onboarding, underwriting, MCC assignments, and high-risk merchant activity
- Monitor chargeback, fraud, and network compliance programs and escalate issues as needed
- Support audits, regulatory exams, and card network inquiries
- Partner with fintechs, ISOs, PayFacs, processors, and third-party vendors to ensure compliance and operational alignment
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and governance documentation
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of exp in merchant acquiring, payments risk, governance, or compliance
- Strong understanding of merchant acquiring, PayFac, card network rules, and payments operations
- Exp with risk assessments, controls, remediation, and governance reporting
- Knowledge of Visa/Mastercard operating regulations, fraud monitoring, chargebacks, and merchant risk
- Exp within banking, fintech, payment processors, or regulated financial environments preferred
