Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years current experience in a hospital setting required. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: AHA BLS required. Must-Have: - Current hospital experience required. - MUST float within the scope of practice. - Willingness to work every other weekend is required. - Must reside within 75 miles of the facility to be considered. Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of current experience in a medical surgical environment. The nurse will manage patient care with a ratio of 1:5-6. Experience with Meditech EMR is necessary. The nurse must have skills in accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, bowel obstruction, and colostomy/ileostomy management. Responsibilities include feeding tube care, high flow nasal cannula management, and IV insulin protocols. The nurse will provide care for patients with mood disorders, surgical drains, total joint replacements, and substance withdrawal. Knowledge of wound care and use of rapid response/code teams is essential. Flexibility is required due to potential changes in patient ratios based on census and staffing needs. Candidates should be prepared to work a schedule of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the following week over a two-week pay period. All travelers must adhere to the established schedule and must be able to fulfill the required duties and responsibilities. References from a charge nurse or higher, as well as a supervisor, are required. This is a travel position and compliance with all local and federal guidelines is mandatory. Returning travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after working one year to be eligible to return.
