Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding role impacting the lives of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher during the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time position runs from August 13, 2026, to June 3, 2027, offering the chance to provide essential support and guidance to students in a self-contained setting.
Responsibilities include managing a caseload of 12 students with mild to moderate needs, fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment, and collaborating with education professionals to tailor instruction and support according to each student’s individualized education plan (IEP). This position requires commitment to the scheduled hours of 7:15am to 3:15pm, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher (or eligibility to obtain)
- Demonstrated experience in teaching or supporting students with special education needs, preferably at the middle school level
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and team members
- Ability to create a supportive, engaging, and structured classroom environment
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering instruction to students in a self-contained classroom setting, adapting curriculum as necessary
- Developing and implementing IEPs, monitoring progress toward goals
- Maintaining accurate records and providing regular updates to staff and families
- Collaborating with paraprofessionals, therapists, and administrators
- Promoting a culture that fosters independence, participation, and confidence among students
