Qualifications Must be able to read, write and carry out directions in English Experience working with seniors or individuals with dementia is preferred Creative, engaging and compassionate personality Strong interpersonal and communication skills Minimum of 17 years of age Must be able to pass the state mandated criminal background screening and pre-employment Essential Functions Utilize GEMS: Positive Approach to Dementia Care Plan and lead group and individual activities in the memory care neighborhoods (exercise, music, crafts, games etc.) Engage residents through structured and spontaneous interactions Prepare materials and supplies for activities Support special events, outings and family programming Assist residents with meals as needed Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents in all aspects of personal care.
