This role ensures that classrooms, residence halls, offices, and common areas reflect excellent stewardship and extend Christian hospitality to students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors. This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship. Key Responsibilities Campus Care & Sanitation Routine Cleaning: Clean, sanitize, and stock restrooms, classrooms, offices, laboratories, and lounges daily. Floor Care: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and shampoo carpets; extract, strip, wax, and buff hard floor surfaces as assigned. Waste Management: Collect and empty interior and exterior trash, recycling, and hazardous waste receptacles. Event Setup: Assist with setup, teardown, and cleaning for campus events, including chapel services, conferences, and graduation ceremonies. Safety, Stewardship & Operations Property Inspections: Conduct daily checks of assigned areas to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, or vandalism, and report them promptly. Chemical Safety: Mix, handle, and store cleaning chemicals safely in strict accordance with OSHA and university guidelines. Resource Management: Monitor custodial inventory, request replenishments proactively, and maintain equipment in clean, working order. Emergency Response: Respond rapidly to cleanup requests for spills, weather-related issues, or other campus urgent needs. Other Duties and Responsibilities Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed, and not necessarily mentioned in this description, may be asked on a volunteer basis. Commitment to the University’s faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith. Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff. The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings. Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually. Community Alignment & Mission Christian Hospitality: Interact with students, faculty, staff, and guests with kindness, respect, and a service-oriented attitude. Mission Integration: Support the spiritual environment of the university by maintaining spaces that foster community, learning, and worship. Discretion: Exhibit high integrity and respect for privacy when working in residence halls, counseling areas, and faculty offices. Job Qualifications Skills & Experience Experience: One year of professional cleaning, janitorial, or hospitality experience preferred, but not required. Communication: Ability to read safety labels, follow verbal or written instructions, and interact positively with the public. Alignment: Commitment to supporting the Christian mission, values, and lifestyle expectations of the university. Physical Demands & Work Environment Physical Mobility: Constant walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout the shift. Lifting Ability: Regularly lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds (e.g., trash bags, equipment, furniture). Work Conditions: Exposure to cleaning chemicals and variable indoor/outdoor temperatures, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This position is considered to be full-time, non-exempt from overtime pay provisions as provided by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws. #J-18808-Ljbffr
