Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Maintain professional accountability for provision of patient care and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers
• Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice and the Missouri Nurse Practice Act
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information at all times
• Perform physical duties including standing and walking for most of the shift, lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs, and pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet criteria for eligibility for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) only — required prior to start
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications — may be submitted without, but must be obtained prior to start
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, or a minimum of 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility — experience level must be clearly indicated on resume
• Flu vaccination or an approved exemption is required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Block schedules cannot be accommodated; weekend hours are required as needed by the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with trauma and pediatric patient populations
• High-volume experience in a setting seeing 200+ patients per day
• High-acuity emergency department experience
• Determined, decisive, and flexible personality well-suited to a busy urban trauma environment
