Addiction Psychiatrist

Job Description Our client, a reputable healthcare provider operating a large and busy outpatient addiction program serving patients from adolescents to adults, is hiring a Board‑Certified Addiction Psychiatrist to join their dedicated team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment focusing on comprehensive addiction treatment and mental health care, with a significant impact on patient recovery and well‑being. Responsibilities Conduct diagnostic evaluations for patients with dual diagnoses of mental illness and substance use disorder or substance use disorder alone. Provide follow‑up medication management visits, overseeing pharmacologic treatment plans. Collaborate closely with therapists and counselors to develop and implement individualized care strategies. Manage outpatient withdrawal protocols and administer pharmacologic agents such as Suboxone, Sublocade, and Vivitrol. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Participate in occasional call schedules, which are typically voluntary but may be assigned as needed. Ensure compliance with all clinical and safety protocols related to addiction treatment. Requirements Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Psychiatry. Valid medical license to practice in the state. Proven experience in outpatient addiction treatment settings, including work with dual diagnosis patients. Familiarity with prescribing and administering pharmacologic agents for substance use disorder. Competence in outpatient withdrawal management protocols. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. Experience working with adolescent patients preferred. Additional certifications in addiction medicine or related fields preferred. Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an Addiction Psychiatrist in an outpatient setting. Prior experience in prescribing medication‑assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorder. Salary The posted range is not a guarantee.
