Staff Data Engineer

Salary: $93,000 - 133,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in data science, AI/ML, computer science, or a closely related discipline
• We require at least six years of relevant experience as a Data Engineer or Data Scientist
• We need experience building data pipelines and standardizing data using core Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and Polars
• We require experience working on a team with version control tools such as Git, GitLab, or Bitbucket
• We require an active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a recent Full-Scope Polygraph
• Preferred qualifications include a masters degree or PhD in data science, AI/ML, computer science, or a related field
• Preferred qualifications include experience with GitLab, DevSecOps, test-driven development, containers such as Docker or Docker Compose, cloud platforms such as AWS, and distributed computing tools such as Spark or PySpark
• Preferred qualifications include experience leading an interdisciplinary team of researchers and software developers
• Preferred qualifications include experience with large language models, transformer-based architectures, natural language processing methods such as BERT, reinforcement learning, clustering, deep neural networks, or tracking and pattern-of-life algorithms
• Preferred qualifications include experience with GenAI Ops methods and tools such as LLM-as-a-judge, LangFuse, MLFlow, or Arize Phoenix
• Preferred qualifications include experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks such as HuggingFace and LangChain
• Preferred qualifications include experience working in Linux environments
• Preferred qualifications include familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and Bedrock
• Preferred qualifications include experience with additional programming languages such as Java, C++, Rust, Go, or C#
• Preferred qualifications include experience implementing GPU-based algorithms in Python or C++ using CUDA and related libraries
• Preferred qualifications include experience with application deployment, virtualization, and containerization tools such as Podman, Docker, Kubernetes, or Rancher
• Preferred qualifications include experience shaping and writing proposals

• We build ETL pipelines that support AI/ML and LLM solutions for a wide range of customer needs
• We assemble large and complex datasets to enable AI/ML algorithm development
• We build the infrastructure needed to extract, transform, and load data efficiently from multiple sources
• We curate and maintain data used for metrics and evaluation
• We implement artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms
• We identify, design, and deliver process improvements, including infrastructure redesign, better data delivery, and automation of manual work
