Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Essential Qualifications:

• Valid NMPED (New Mexico Public Education Department) teaching certificate in Special Education
• Proven experience in elementary education, particularly with students who have exceptional needs
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills
• Capacity to adapt instructional strategies and classroom management to support diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans, ensuring legal compliance and best practices
• Provide targeted instruction in academic, social, and behavioral skills to students in inclusive and/or resource settings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student success
• Regularly assess student performance; adjust approaches to fit learner progress
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
• Advocate for students and foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
