Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to join our dietary team in a long-term care facility. The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, appetizing meals in accordance with physician orders, resident dietary needs, and facility standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes. Ensure meals meet dietary requirements, including modified and therapeutic diets. Review production sheets and prepare food in appropriate quantities. Maintain proper food temperatures and adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Assist with food prep, portioning, and plating as needed. Ensure kitchen, equipment, and work areas are clean and sanitized at all times. Receive, store, and rotate food supplies according to regulations. Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments. Follow all local, state, and federal regulations, including sanitation and infection control standards. Qualifications Previous cooking experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred. Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets is a plus. Ability to read and follow recipes and production sheets. Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Serv Safe certification.
