Job Description

The Warehouse Technician supports daily warehouse operations by safely handling materials, managing inbound and outbound shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records in a fast-paced supply store environment. This role operates forklifts and other material handling equipment, works a Monday–Friday day shift, and plays a key part in ensuring products are stored, picked, and shipped efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Use material handling equipment to load and unload inbound and outbound shipments, including trucks and small parcel carriers such as UPS, Federal Express, Airborne, and DHL.
• Safely operate assigned forklifts and other material handling equipment, completing required inspections and confirming all equipment is in safe operating condition before use.
• Report all accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly to the appropriate supervisor or designated contact.
• Stock, organize, and arrange products in warehouse racks to support efficient inventory turns and easy access to materials.
• Perform cycle counts to determine accurate material quantities and support inventory accuracy.
• Receive materials into inventory, including verifying part numbers, quantities, and related data fields, and enter accurate information into electronic inventory systems.
• Move materials between designated locations and warehouse racks, and locate and pick materials to and from warehouse locations as required.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in material quantities, part numbers, and inventory records to maintain data integrity.
• Locate parts and ensure pallets are stable and safely stacked, observing pallet heights, racking conditions, and equipment integrity so that materials are not left in aisles or unsafe areas.
• Consistently practice safe material handling techniques in all aspects of loading, unloading, stocking, and picking.
• Perform general housekeeping tasks as assigned to keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Use RF scanners and related warehouse technology to support picking, packing, shipping, and receiving activities.
• Support shipping and receiving processes, including labeling, staging, and preparing orders for outbound shipment.
• Handle both sit-down, stand-up, and clamp-style forklift operations as needed for different material types and storage configurations.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required to meet operational needs.
• Adhere to all safety-sensitive role requirements and follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.

Essential Skills

• Proven warehouse experience in shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and general labor activities.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and clamp trucks, in a busy warehouse environment.
• Hands-on experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, and moving pallets and product between warehouse locations.
• Proficiency using RF scanners for inventory, picking, and shipping/receiving tasks.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate part numbers, quantities, and data entry into electronic inventory systems.
• Ability to perform cycle counting and support accurate inventory control.
• Capability to work with non-climate-controlled conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and working at heights over 6 feet when required.
• Commitment to practicing safe material handling techniques and following all safety procedures.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a high-volume warehouse or supply store environment.
• Background in shipping and receiving operations with multiple carriers such as UPS, Federal Express, Airborne, and DHL.
• Comfort using electronic inventory systems and scanners to track receipts, locations, and inventory levels.
• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory records and material documentation.
• Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends based on business needs.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly racks, aisles, and storage areas.
• Reliable work ethic and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Work Environment

This position is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse setting, where temperatures can vary with the seasons. You work a standard Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., totaling approximately 40 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime and weekend work when needed. The role involves regular use of forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, and clamp), RF scanners, and other material handling equipment. Work is primarily on and around warehouse racks, pallets, and loading areas, including occasional tasks over 6 feet in height. The environment is active, with frequent movement of goods, and requires adherence to safety procedures and appropriate work attire suitable for a warehouse and material handling setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
