Security Officer

As our Security Officer, you will maintain the highest level of safety and security by patrolling assigned areas, detecting and investigating suspicious activity or crime. Day‑to‑day you will monitor electronic surveillance equipment and hospital emergency systems, dispatch appropriate personnel via radio, and actively patrol to protect individuals and property while embodying our core values and supporting quality improvement. Responsibilities Protect staff, patients, and visitors by responding quickly to calls for assistance such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes in progress, emergency codes, or door‑opening requests. Patrol the facility and grounds on foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to necessary locations; report unsafe acts or conditions. Have knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and supplies, including radios and hospital codes; report HIPAA breaches when witnessed; investigate security breaches and write incident reports. Ensure that all activities are logged and that incident reports are accurate, clear, concise, legible, and submitted on time. Use appropriate emergency and radio codes when dispatching security officers; know the hospital campus to dispatch accurately. Keep the organization’s mission, vision, and values at the forefront of all decision making and actions; demonstrate professional skills and capabilities; interact with others to give confidence in the organization; adhere to uniform dress code and display employee ID badge at all times while on duty. Job Requirements High School Graduate in General Studies with less than 6 months experience as a security officer in a healthcare setting, upon hire. High School GED in General Studies with less than 6 months experience as a security officer in a healthcare setting, upon hire. Driver's License: NE, upon hire.
