Periodic Wellness Wednesday snacks and Fresh Cut Fruit Cup Fridays!Competitive Pay and Benefits$21.01 - $24.72/hour based on experience levelRegular benchmarking our positions and benefits to remain competitive.401K Match: 100% company match of employee contributions up to 3% deferral, 50% company match of employee contributions between 3% and 5% deferral.Company provided life insurance for employees and dependents.Additional life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, critical illness and accident insurances offered.Affordable health/dental/vision insurance.High-deductible health plan with the option of HSA (Health Savings Account) with company match program.Health and/or dependent care FSA (Flexible Spending Account).Comprehensive Wellness Program (company paid annual biometric screening, health challenges, webinars, and more).Start accruing paid time off from day one.Eight paid holidays annually: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas day, and an additional Floating Holiday placed annually by management.Summary/ObjectiveThe Brake Press Operator performs set ups, operates and tends machines (brake, saw, laser and other machines) to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, straighten, or perform any other fabrication operation on metal or plastic material.Duties and responsibilitiesInstall, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures machines, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.Load workpieces or material into machines.Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material.Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, and calipers.Examine complete workpieces for defects.Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances.Ensure all parts are labeled and have job travelers with correct parts and record count for those parts.Organize program numbers.Have all pieces verified by quality (in the event that quality is not available, use the "buddy system" to ensure quality of pieces).Responsible for managing tooling needs.Start machines, monitor their operations, record necessary data.Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools.Position, align, and secure workpieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies.Other jobs and/or duties as directed by Supervisor or Operations Manager.QualificationsEducation/ExperienceHigh School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)1-2 years press machine operation experienceKnowledgeProduction and Processing - Knowledge of basic machine operation processesMathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisionMechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceOther AttributesDependability - Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.Attention to Detail - Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.Integrity - Job requires being honest and ethical.Cooperation - Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.Working conditionsSounds, Noise - Job requires frequent exposure to noises that may be distracting or uncomfortable.Indoors, Not Environmentally Controlled - Job requires working in a metal fabrication and warehouse environment without a cooling system.Wear Common Protective or Safety Equipment - Job requires constant use of the required personal protective equipment.Duration of Typical Work Week - As a full-time position, the standard schedule is 40 hours per week.
