O’Fallon, MO | Hybrid (2 days remote)

$60,000 – $72,000 (Permanent Position)

LHH is partnering with a well-established construction company in O’Fallon, MO to hire a Payroll Specialist . This is a great opportunity to join a stable team with strong tenure and growth potential, supporting a complex, multi-state payroll environment.

This position offers a hybrid schedule , with remote flexibility typically on Mondays and Fridays .

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the processing of multi-state payroll across a national workforce
• Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate payroll data, including job cost allocations and wage requirements
• Review and validate payroll inputs such as hours, earnings, deductions, and adjustments
• Assist with certified payroll reporting and compliance with prevailing wage regulations
• Manage garnishments, child support orders, and other withholdings (highly preferred)
• Maintain employee payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Reconcile payroll data and assist with audits and reporting requests
• Collaborate with payroll administration and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies
• Support continuous process improvements within payroll operations

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of payroll experience (construction or multi-state payroll preferred)
• Experience with prevailing wage or certified payroll is a strong plus
• Understanding of pre-tax vs. post-tax deductions
• Familiarity with garnishments and employee withholdings preferred
• Proficiency in Excel (basic formulas and data tracking)
• Experience with Viewpoint or similar ERP/payroll systems is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex payroll scenarios
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
