Software Engineering Manager

Salary: $148,000 - 205,000 per year Requirements:

• We require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance, along with any additional clearances as needed.
• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, plus at least 12 years of relevant experience.
• We will also consider a masters degree with at least 10 years of related experience, or 16 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• We need broad management and leadership capability to guide cross-functional project teams and operate across functions.
• We require experience recruiting and hiring technical talent.
• We require experience developing technical and cost-volume inputs for proposals.
• We require experience as a Cost Account Manager using EVMS and supporting the program execution lifecycle.
• We require the ability to travel up to 10%.
• Preferred: experience in Agile development, with Scrum certification or equivalent exposure.
• Preferred: experience leading proposal development and Basis of Estimate creation.
• Preferred: background in real-time embedded software, information assurance, video communications, embedded interfaces such as I2C, RS232, CAN, or Ethernet, and safety-critical systems.
• Preferred: experience with DevOps processes, tools, and procedures.

• We lead the software design and development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, specifications, design, implementation, and delivery.
• We drive efficient engineering practices, establish software development standards, and conduct code and design reviews.
• We work closely with software, electrical, systems engineering, and chief engineering leaders to optimize assignments and support effective product development.
• We identify and implement development processes that improve team productivity and performance.
• We mentor, coach, and guide team members in career growth and development opportunities.
• We contribute directly to project development work when needed.
• We perform engineer performance evaluations.
• We manage the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring process for new software engineers.
• We contribute to proposal cost estimating and Basis of Estimate efforts.
• We oversee manpower allocation within a matrix organization.
