Weekly Schedule: Position will start as part time (15-20 hrs/week) and have the potential to grow into a full-time position.

Work Setting : In-person services in client homes, clinic, school and community settings, depending on client assignment

Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.

NOTE: This position will be assigned to provide services in Cerritos (in our office clinic) and surrounding areas: Cerritos, Artesia, Bellflower, Lakewood, Norwalk, La Mirada, Hawaiian Gardens, Long Beach, Downey, Paramount, Santa Fe Springs, Whittier and Pico Rivera.

Position Summary

The ABA Company is seeking compassionate, dependable, and professional Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to provide high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children and adolescents.

The RBT works directly with clients under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and is responsible for implementing individualized treatment programs, collecting accurate clinical data, supporting skill acquisition and behavior-reduction goals, and documenting services in CentralReach.

RBTs are an important part of each client’s treatment team. The ideal candidate is patient, energetic, receptive to feedback, comfortable working directly with children and families, and committed to providing ethical, individualized, and respectful care.

Essential Job Duties

Direct ABA Services

• Provide 1:1 and, when assigned, small-group ABA services in accordance with the client’s treatment plan and BCBA direction.
• Implement skill-acquisition programs addressing areas such as communication, social skills, play, adaptive living skills, independence, attending, and other individualized treatment goals.
• Implement behavior-support and behavior-reduction procedures exactly as written and trained by the supervising BCBA.
• Use ABA teaching strategies such as natural environment teaching, discrete-trial teaching, reinforcement, prompting and prompt fading, shaping, chaining, modeling, and other procedures included in the client's treatment plan.
• Conduct preference assessments and other technician-level procedures when trained and directed by the supervising BCBA.
• Promote client independence rather than unnecessarily completing tasks for the client.
• Incorporate client interests, motivation, dignity, choice, and assent into service delivery as appropriate.
• Follow established safety plans, behavior intervention plans, and crisis procedures.

Data Collection & CentralReach Documentation

• Collect accurate, objective, real-time data on assigned treatment goals and target behaviors.
• Use CentralReach and/or CR Mobile to access assigned programs and record session data.
• Complete a Session Note for each service encounter in accordance with company and payer requirements.
• Document observable client behavior, interventions used, client responses, progress toward goals, caregiver participation when applicable, and relevant clinical or safety events.
• Complete required signatures, timekeeping, and service documentation accurately and within company-established timelines.
• Maintain accurate start and end times and immediately report documentation or timekeeping errors.
• Notify the appropriate supervisor when CentralReach, scheduling, authorization, or documentation issues interfere with service delivery.
• Protect the confidentiality and security of all client information.

Clinical Supervision

• Work under the direction and ongoing supervision of an assigned BCBA and/or other qualified supervisor.
• Participate actively in required individual and group supervision.
• Permit direct observation of service delivery as required.
• Demonstrate treatment procedures for the supervisor and incorporate feedback into future sessions.
• Ask for clarification before implementing an unfamiliar procedure.
• Maintain competency in the programs and interventions assigned to the RBT.
• Attend required case consultations, trainings, competency assessments, and clinical meetings.
• Immediately communicate significant changes in client behavior, new safety concerns, unusual events, or barriers to treatment to the supervising BCBA.

Caregiver & Team Communication

• Maintain warm, respectful, professional communication with parents, caregivers, school personnel, and other authorized members of the treatment team.
• Provide appropriate factual session updates to caregivers regarding activities completed and observable client participation.
• Direct questions regarding treatment changes, diagnosis, clinical recommendations, progress interpretation, service hours, or treatment-plan decisions to the supervising BCBA.
• Follow caregiver participation procedures established by the treatment team.
• Collaborate professionally with teachers, aides, therapists, and other providers when authorized and within the RBT's assigned role.
• Use only company-approved communication methods for client-related information.

Professionalism & Attendance

• Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled sessions, supervision meetings, and required trainings.
• Maintain reliable attendance and promptly follow company call-out and absence procedures.
• Review assigned client information and treatment programs before providing services.
• Maintain professional boundaries with clients and families.
• Accept coaching and corrective feedback professionally.
• Communicate scheduling concerns or barriers to attendance as early as possible.
• Maintain professional behavior and appearance appropriate to the service setting.
• Follow applicable home, school, clinic, and community-site rules while providing services.
• Represent The ABA Company professionally during all interactions with clients, families, providers, and community partners.

Safety, Ethics & Compliance

• Follow the BACB RBT Ethics Code, company policies, treatment plans, payer requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain client dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
• Follow HIPAA and company privacy/security procedures.
• Fulfill mandated-reporting responsibilities according to applicable law and company policy.
• Immediately report safety incidents, injuries, suspected abuse or neglect, significant behavioral events, and other reportable incidents through the appropriate channels.
• Implement physical-management, crisis-response, restrictive, or other specialized procedures only when appropriately trained, authorized, and included in the client's approved plan.
• Never falsify data, service times, signatures, session notes, billing information, or other documentation.
• Immediately disclose circumstances that may interfere with the ability to provide safe, ethical, or competent services.

RBT Scope of Practice

The RBT implements treatment developed and overseen by qualified clinical supervisors.

The RBT does not independently :

• Develop or substantially modify a client's treatment plan.
• Add, remove, or change treatment goals without clinical direction.
• Create or modify behavior intervention plans independently.
• Diagnose a client or provide diagnostic opinions.
• Independently interpret clinical data or make treatment recommendations to families.
• Promise or determine treatment hours, insurance coverage, authorizations, or funding decisions.
• Change reinforcement, prompting, behavior-reduction, or other clinical procedures without appropriate clinical direction.
• Provide services or interventions for which the RBT has not been trained and demonstrated competency.
• Represent themselves as a BCBA, therapist, counselor, psychologist or independent clinical provider.

Questions regarding treatment should be escalated to the supervising BCBA rather than answered beyond the RBT's scope.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to successfully complete all company-required background, exclusion, and credential verification processes.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain required
