Classification College Laboratory Assistant 1 Seasonal, August to May, Full-time Hours 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (Monday – Friday) **Schedules are established each semester and may vary based on lab operational hours. ** Position is completely on sight Salary Range: Hourly from $21.26 to $29.28; Annually from $44,372 to $61,137 *Salary placement is dependent on education and experience (Please note that a different range may be displayed elsewhere in this post due to a glitch, this is the correct range.) The vacancy is posted on-line from Wednesday August 26 – Tuesday September 8 at 11:59pm THE POSITION AND THE DEPARTMENT The role of the CLA 1 is to provide operational support for the Health Sciences, Nursing, Nursing Assistant, and simulation laboratories. Principal responsibilities include scheduling of lab spaces, setting up and taking down of lab experiences, equipment cleaning and maintenance, organizing and maintaining inventory, laundry, ordering of supplies, supervising student employees, assisting students, and monitoring student activity. No student instruction or assessment will be provided by the CLA 1. This position will actively advance the college’s strategic goals, including to achieve equity in educational outcomes and to support a culturally responsive and service-oriented culture, through individual and departmental efforts. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Post-secondary or industry certificate/diploma/degree or relevant licensure as a registered nurse, medical assistant, nursing assistant, or health care simulation lab assistant OR 6 months of teaching/tutoring experience nursing, medical assistant, nursing assistant, or health care simulation lab assistant, at the high school level or above OR 2 years of work experience in nursing, medical assistant, nursing assistant, or health care simulation lab assistant, where no degree/certificate/diploma/licensure is required experience OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Other knowledge, skills, and abilities that we will be interviewing for: Problem solving skills Ability to work with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.
