Date: Jul 2, 2026 Human Resources & Training Associate General Overview Functional Area: HRM - Human Resources Career Stream: HRM - Human Resources Role: Associate Job Title: HR Associate Job Code: ASS-HRM Band: Level 06 Direct/Indirect Indicator: Indirect Detailed Description Incumbents have substantial latitude in determining the best methods and procedures to follow to complete assignments. Tasks are broad and complex in nature where considerable independent judgment and discretion are required. Strong initiative is required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Decisions/actions may have an impact on the department's/division’s goals. May also be the entry level for the professional career path. Assignments are received in the form of results expected. Possesses broad knowledge of operations and policies. May provide functional guidance to others performing similar work and/or provide project or task leadership. May be considered the expert in areas assigned. Builds strong internal and external relationships that require exchanging information and providing explanations in a problem solving capacity. Interfaces regularly with persons of higher positions. Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: Communicates and facilitates processes and procedures related to training & development (e.g., corporate development initiatives, management and employee development), benefits (e.g., open enrollment, integration of new employees into benefit plan), and other programs that promote employee engagement. Communicates program changes to management team and to employees. Provides value add input to ensure continuous improvement for any program(s), system or database. Assists employees with questions or problems related to benefits plans. Partners with managers to ensure training requirements are met. Supports activities regarding legal and regulatory impact of program changes. Generates reports as requested. Gathers information as requested. (e.g., PDP ratings, merit increases). Position acts as a key resource for internal HR teams and end users. Significant knowledge of legislation impacting the practice of human resources management. Significant knowledge of company HR policies and practices. Knowledge of local HRIS system and report writing. Good public presentation skills. General knowledge of adult learning methods. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal customers. Ability to evaluate multiple highly detailed tasks, determine priorities and organize work in a manner that allows for timely completion of projects. Ability to manage sensitive employee information in a confidential manner. Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications: Google Workspace, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Physical Demands Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Typical Experience One to two years of relevant experience. Typical Education Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational requirements may vary by geography.
