Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse, Michigan This position involves providing leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care within a medical surgical unit. The role requires effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring the implementation of patient care plans and finding solutions for variances from patient goals.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with a 13-week contract.
• Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association; at least 2 years of Medical Surgical (Med Surg) experience; and minimum 1 year of experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN); Med Surg experience at a Level 2 trauma facility.
• Additional Information: Candidates may be asked to float to a lockdown unit (general medical surgical patients). Block scheduling is not available; shifts are scheduled consecutively when possible but not guaranteed.
• Skills: Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans, professional nursing services, effective communication skills, and nursing care planning.
