Job Title:Mobile TechnicianDepartment:MaintenanceCountry:United States of AmericaState/Province:MassachusettsCity:WestfieldFull/Part Time:Full timeJob Summary:As a Mobile Technician II, you are responsible for performing intermediate service and repair of J.B. Hunt tractors, trailers, chassis, containers or power equipment. Under routine supervision, this role works outside of the shop, servicing equipment at customer sites or rail yards using our mobile service truck.Job Description:$1,500 sign on bonus available for limited time.Key Responsibilities :Perform intermediate-level preventive maintenance and repairs, including tire replacements, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics and basic structural repairs on tractor or trailer equipmentTroubleshoot and repair ABS systemProperly operate the mobile service truck and attend to truck inventoryAssist with the onboarding and mentorship of tractor technician traineesFollow all safety requirements while onsite and at customer locationsAccurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established proceduresProperly document damage to company equipment to estimate cost of repairsDemonstrate proficient use of a cutting torch and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipmentPatch holes in trailer or container side panels and roofsPerform annual AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections under direct supervisionQualifications:Minimum Qualifications :18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs with 2 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiencesPossess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelinesAble to supply your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase programWillingness to work outdoors in the elementsAble to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if neededPreferred Qualifications :High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakesWelding certification Forklift certification and experience EPA section 608 certification and refrigeration licenseAbility to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediumsAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamProficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectivelyAbility to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds) Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)The expected starting pay range for this position is between $27.85 - $41.78This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.Compensation:Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
