Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Junior Controls Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will help design, develop, test, and maintain automated control systems. You will work closely with senior engineers to program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), configure Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and troubleshoot hardware or software issues on the factory floor. This is an ideal position for an early-career engineer eager to gain hands-on experience in industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities:
PLC & HMI Programming: Assist in writing, modifying, and testing control logic code under the guidance of senior staff.
System Testing & Commissioning: Help perform factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site commissioning to ensure equipment meets specifications.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software problems in active automated systems.
Panel Design & Documentation: Assist in creating and updating electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using CAD software.
Collaboration: Work alongside mechanical, electrical, and project management teams to support efficient project delivery.
Safety & Compliance: Learn and adhere to industry safety standards and electrical codes (such as NEC, NFPA 70E, and UL 508A).
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Associate's degrees with relevant experience will also be considered).
Experience: 0 to 3 years of hands-on or internship experience in industrial automation or electrical controls.
Technical Knowledge:
Basic understanding of PLC programming concepts (Allen-Bradley, Keyence, Beckhoff, Siemens or similar platforms).
Basic understanding of PLC ladder logic or structured text programming
Familiarity with electrical components, circuit design, and reading schematics.
Basic skills using tools like a multimeter for electrical testing.
Exposure to CAD software (such as AutoCAD) for drawing updates.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, good verbal and written communication skills. Background in CNC Machining or Fanuc robotic programming is a plus.

Full Time: Flexible work week (Four Ten Hour Days) either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday during normal business hours (6-4:30pm)
