Progressive Care Unit Overview:

Picture yourself as a member of our vibrant team in the Progressive Care unit. This unit features 30 beds, where we cater to a diverse range of patients, including those requiring step-down, med-surg, and swing care. Our patient population primarily consists of individuals with long-term and chronic illnesses, and building strong relationships with both patients and their families is a fundamental aspect of our work. We take pride in supporting them throughout their healthcare journey.

Job Summary and Qualifications

This role involves providing leadership that facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. You will utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and education for patients and their families. You will also implement medically prescribed interventions.

Qualifications Required:

• Preferred Experience: One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Required Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program, with the expectation of obtaining a BSN within five years of starting in the RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and entities. Exemptions or extensions may be granted by the facility CNO and reported to the CNO Council members. Facilities will track exemptions as needed. RNs with ten or more years of experience are exempt.
• Required License/Certifications: Must possess and maintain current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply; licensees should verify with NCBON.
• Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider.
