Metal Building Industries (MBI) is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee our accounting and financial operations and help drive informed business decisions. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, project accounting, internal controls, and construction‑related financial analysis. MBI specializes in the design, supply, and installation of complex Pre‑Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) for the commercial construction market. Through our innovative 3D‑native design workflow, we deliver projects faster, with greater coordination, and at a higher level of quality than traditional approaches. What You’ll Do Lead the company’s accounting and financial operations, such as financial reporting, month‑end close, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Prepare accurate financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and management reports that support business decisions. Monitor cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and collection activities to maintain financial stability. Oversee construction accounting functions, including job costing, WIP reporting, project billing, retainage tracking, and profitability analysis. Maintain compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations. Partner with project managers and company leadership to analyze project performance, identify trends, and improve financial results. Coordinate audits, tax filings, regulatory compliance activities, and financial documentation requirements. Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting processes, and financial systems. Lead and develop accounting team members while fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5 or more years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, preferably in the construction industry. Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience with QuickBooks Online, strongly preferred. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
