Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Bring your expertise in speech-language pathology to a dynamic middle school setting for an engaging contract opportunity this fall. This position is tailored for an SLP with CCC credentials, ready to support students’ communication development and make a substantial impact during the academic semester. Working 35 hours a week from August 24th to December 22nd, you’ll collaborate closely with educators, students, and families in a vibrant community near Bridgeport, CT.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
• Connecticut state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Previous experience with middle school populations preferred
• Proficiency in administering formal communication assessments and developing individualized plans
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and interpret formal assessments to determine eligibility for special education services
• Observe students in classroom settings to evaluate the impact of communication on academic and social growth
• Develop and implement measurable, customized long- and short-term goals for each student
• Provide targeted instruction to enhance speech sound production, language skills, and social pragmatics
• Train students in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices for effective expression
• Work within general education classrooms to support students as they practice vital communication skills
• Engage families with resources and strategies to reinforce progress at home
• Document therapy sessions for Medicaid billing and ensure compliance with district requirements
