Unit Manager, Life Insurance Customer Service & Operations - Remote

Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our Life Insurance Customer Service and Operations team as a Unit Manager! About the role As a Unit Manager, you will beResponsible for leading, supervising and developing employees to meet individual unit performance objectives, which may include time standards, quality & production goals. Will supervise an operational unit of 6+ employees. What you will do Provide employees with coaching, feedback and developmental opportunities and building effective teams. Set clear expectations and holding employees accountable for performance. Oversee training and development of employees and making effective staffing decisions. Build appropriate bench strength. Ensure employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements. Provide coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve employee, business and customer results. Challenge and inspire employees to achieve business results and motivating them through leadership and by celebrating successes. Manage the daily workflow to meet Service Level Agreements, including making recommendations for maintaining appropriate staffing levels. Responsible for appropriate record keeping, required reports, and ensuring related administrative functions are correct and maintained according to company policies. Accountable for resolution of customer and/or partner questions and complaints. Defining short-term goals and objectives for their work group. Effectively communicate unit/department/company goals to achieve understanding and acceptance. Continuously build subject matter expertise by being a student of the business, demonstrating technical knowledge of policies and procedures. Manage essential support functions and special projects as needed. Assist in the development of processes and procedural changes to improve unit/department performance. Other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong leadership potential, including the ability to train, mentor and coach individuals and/or a group. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and changing environment. Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze issues trends that impact customer satisfaction. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Previous customer service experience required. Previous Life Insurance experience preferred. Previous experience in an operations environment. Working knowledge of common software applications, business platforms.
