Pharmacy Technician - Transitions of Care

Position Summary A Transitions of Care Pharmacy Technician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA will assist the pharmacist with medication reconciliation tasks by interviewing patients, obtaining and updating medication histories, and documenting them in the electronic medication record. All duties are performed independently by the technician under pharmacist supervision. Shift Schedule The technician will work rotating shifts—days/evenings and rotating weekends. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the California State Board of Pharmacy License. Adequate background in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Training, with honesty, integrity, reliability and good hygiene. Pharmacy background is necessary to interpret physicians' orders for pharmacy items and calculate dosages, volumes, weights, etc. for extemporaneous compounding. Exhibit accuracy and punctuality in all facets of work. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to speak, read and write the English language. Experience in calculations involving ratios, proportions and percentages. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Outpatient experience and knowledge of medication indications are preferred but not required. Training will be provided. Job Requirements The technician must be able to use: calculator, computer printer, PC, medication carts, automated dispensing machines, etc. Proficiency in operation of specialized equipment is necessary for assignment to specialized areas such as OR/ER, Sterile Manufacturing, ACP, Storeroom, etc. What Else Are We Looking For?
