Job Title: Seasonal Contract RN - Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Active RN License Certifications: Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred Must-Have: Candidates must have experience with high-risk maternal patients. Experience in circulating operating rooms and triage is required. Description: This is a seasonal contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The contract is for a duration of 13 weeks with day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. No on-call requirements are necessary. The unit is designated as a Level 4 maternal center, caring for complex patients at any gestation. It consists of 22 beds, including 16 labor beds. The staff comprises approximately 100 personnel, including Registered Nurses and support staff. Typical staffing during day shifts includes 1 charge nurse, a minimum of 2 surgical technologists, 1 unit clerk, and staff Registered Nurses based on patient census. During weekends, staffing typically includes 7-10 staff members. The patient ratios on the unit are 1:2 or 1:1, depending on the situation. The equipment utilized includes EMR systems for documentation. Permanent positions on the unit are available for night shifts and weekends. Candidates should be multi-taskers, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and must be team-oriented. The unit frequently performs vaginal and cesarean section deliveries, tubal ligations, cerclage placements and removals, and other related procedures. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs. The unit has received recognition as a top maternity hospital and maintains a high level of care. Staff is supported by long-term leadership and the unit is currently undergoing renovations to improve facilities.
