Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position, requiring an Associate's Degree in respiratory care and RRT certification.

Details

• Respiratory Care department providing advanced treatments for conditions like asthma and COPD, including testing, ventilator support, rehabilitation, education, and 24/7 emergency care
• Manages ventilators and non-invasive ventilation for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients
• Performs bedside pulmonary function screening and arterial blood gases
• Uses EPIC for charting, order entry, and order management
• Third shift schedule, 3x12s from 6p-6a
• Weekend and holiday coverage as needed

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in respiratory care required
• BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care (KBRC) Respiratory Care Practitioner License required, if applicable
• National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• No prior experience required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to operate all job-related equipment

Additional Information

• Performs daily respiratory care procedures including aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, percussion and postural drainage, noninvasive and mechanical ventilation, CPR, and arterial blood gases
• Provides intubation support in emergency situations if applicable
• Educates patients and families on ventilator care and safe equipment use
• Assists in maintenance and troubleshooting of respiratory care equipment
• Serves as a resource for nursing, physicians, and respiratory orientees and students
• Participates in quality improvement activities and safety training programs
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to support positive patient outcomes
