Campbellsville Baptist Church is seeking a pastor who is a biblically uncompromising, gospel-centered, and spiritually mature; a compelling preacher AND a genuine shepherd; a warm, visible, community-minded relational overseer who can unite generations; and a courageous, collaborative visionary who can help CBC move from maintaining ministries to strategically mobilizing its people and resources for evangelism, discipleship, missions, and community impact.

Campbellsville Baptist is a Southern Baptist Church located in South Central Kentucky. One of the greatest strengths and gifts of our church is the people who make up our congregation. With a strong history spanning more than 225 years, we are blessed with a rich heritage and deep commitment to the ministry of the church.

WE CARE FOR OUR PASTOR AND HIS FAMILY
·        First and foremost, we want to love, support, and care for our pastor and his family. We believe ministry is a partnership, and want our pastor and his family to feel that they are not simply serving our church, but that they have become a valued and loved part of our church family.

·        We want to encourage our pastor, pray for him, respect his need for family time and rest, and stand beside him through both the joys and challenges of ministry. We desire to create an environment where he can oversee with confidence, knowing that his church family is praying for him, supporting him, and caring for him as a person…not simply as our pastor.

·        We encourage taking personal days, having flexible office hours to spend time in the community, and to engage in personal hobbies. We want to provide soul care for the pastor and his family. We desire to be engaged and know how to make our pastor successful.

·        We also recognize that a pastor’s family shares in the joys and demands of ministry. We want to welcome, encourage, and care for his wife and children while allowing them the freedom to find their own place and individual gifts within the life of the church.

·        Competitive Compensation & Benefits

We are committed to providing our pastor with a competitive and comprehensive compensation package that reflects the responsibilities of the position, the pastor’s experience and qualifications, and the cost of living in our community. Our desire is to care well for our pastor and his family and provide the resources needed for him to serve effectively.

The compensation package will include but not limited to: salary, housing allowance, health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, retirement/annuity contributions, FICA, resource and materials allowance, conference and convention expenses, hospitality expenses, and travel reimbursement or allowance.

We will regularly review the package to ensure it remains competitive and supports the long-term health and effectiveness of our pastor and his family.

Our desire is to be the kind of church that loves our pastor well – praying for him, encouraging him, caring for his family and walking alongside them as we serve Christ together.

QUALIFICATIONS
·   Godly and Christ-Centered – The Senior Pastor shall meet the biblical qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

·   Education – A Doctorate or Master of Divinity degree is preferred but will consider a candidate with a Masters in a theological field from an accredited institution.

·   Experience – A minimum of seven (7) years of pastoral leadership experience is desired.

·   Candidate affirms and faithfully aligns with the Baptist Faith and Message 1963 and its biblical doctrine.

·   Candidate is required to support the ministry and witness of the Kentucky Baptist Convention.

·   Candidate must support the Southern Baptist Convention as the primary means of involvement in international and North American missions.

Strong Biblical Teacher
Faithfully teaches God’s word with clarity, truth, and practical application, helping people grow deeper in their discipleship. Seeks to discern God’s message for the congregation and spends significant time and effort using professional skills to develop and deliver that message. Employs a variety of expository and topical preaching methods.

Great Commission Minded
A pastor that sees the Church as a sending church – into the community, state, nation, and world.

Prayer
Seeks and promotes prayer as a priority, both personally and in the life of the Church.

Evangelistic
Has a passion for sharing the Gospel and reaching people for Christ, encouraging the congregation to live out the Great Commission. Has a genuine love for people and a strong desire to see others come to know Jesus Christ, both within the church and throughout the community.

Spiritually Grounded – Faith
A pastor who demonstrates a genuine relationship with Christ in addition to confidence in Gods direction and provision.

Visionary for Future
Develops, alongside church leaders, a clear path for the Church to gather, grow and go. Prayerfully discern God’s direction for the church and translates that vision into clear, achievable goals. Oversees the church in addressing immediate needs while keeping sight of the bigger picture and God’s long-term purpose. Builds upon the church’s strengths and heritage while helping the congregation embrace opportunities for growth, discipleship, outreach, missions, ministry, and mentoring future leaders for the years ahead. Communicating the vision clearly, bringing people together around it, and developing a thoughtful plan to move the church forward.

Pastoring/Shepherd’s Heart
We desire a pastor who has a genuine shepherd’s heart. A man who loves people, cares deeply for the spiritual well-being of the entire congregation, and has a passion for reaching people of all generations. He should have a particular desire to engage younger generations and young families while continuing to value, honor, and minister to senior members. He should be a pastor who cares for, encourages, protects, and walks alongside his congregation through every season of life. Demonstrates a desire to fellowship regularly with the congregation. Demonstrates genuine care and empathy for people, walking alongside them through both difficult seasons and times of celebration.

Wise, Discerning and Relational
Genuinely cares for people while prayerfully seeking God’s wisdom and exercising sound judgement in difficult situations. Builds authentic relationships across generations and backgrounds, connecting with people personally rather than primarily from the pulpit. Warm, welcoming, and available, creating an environment where people feel comfortable sharing their joys, struggles, and questions.

Leadership
Provides directions and inspires others to follow. Provides ongoing discipleship, mentoring, and spiritual oversight of church staff members. Personally involved in the selection, supervision, goal setting, and evaluation of staff members. Leads with honesty, humility, and integrity, being the same person in the pulpit and in the community. Leads by example.

Administration
With the assistance of staff and lay people, has the ability to organize people, ministries, resources, and delegate effectively.

Our Church Prayer
We have asked our entire church family to fervently pray for God’s wisdom, discernment, unity, and direction in this pastor search process. We trust that God is already working – not only in our church, but also in the heart and life of the man he is preparing to lead us. We may not know his name – but God does.

Our daily prayer is to find a pastor who will help us reach into the 21st century with new energy, new ideas, and a renewed passion for reaching the lost, while loving our people and our community.
