Bulk Prep Cook – LPM Kitchen

LPM Kitchen is a private chef and weekly meal-prep delivery company serving households across the North Shore. We cook everything from scratch out of The Hatchery in Garfield Park, and we're looking for a dependable Bulk Prep Cook to help produce our weekly menus.

This position is about 32 hours per week, Wednesday through Saturday, with additional hours available during busy weeks and events.

We have been doubled in size twice in the past 12 months and will continue to grow.

What you'll do:

• Handle high-volume knife work: chopping, dicing, slicing, and portioning vegetables, proteins, and herbs
• Follow standardized recipes accurately and consistently at scale
• Prepare sauces, dressings, grains, and other components in large batches
• Assemble and portion finished dishes into containers to spec
• Label, date, and store product according to food safety standards
• Keep your station and the kitchen clean and organized throughout the shift, including washing equipment as needed
• Work closely with the chefs and the rest of the production team to hit weekly deadlines

What we're looking for:

• Previous kitchen or prep experience preferred
• Solid knife skills, or a strong willingness to learn
• Ability to read and follow recipes exactly, including scaling and measuring
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and food safety
• Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs
• Dependable, punctual, and easy to work with
• Food Handler certification preferred (or willingness to obtain one)

Job details:

• Starting at $22/hour
• Schedule: Wednesday–Saturday, approximately 9am–5pm
• Location: The Hatchery, 135 N Kedzie Ave, Chicago (Garfield Park)
