Job Description
The Electrical Foreman role involves advanced skills in EMT, aluminum, and galvanized pipe bending, threading, and installation ranging from ½\" to 4\". The position requires full operational expertise in using pulling machines, threading tools, and hydraulic benders. The foreman will work with fire alarm schematics, wire, and install devices following NYC FA Code, and must be adept at data, Cat6, and RJ45 terminations. The role includes reading and interpreting electrical drawings, RCPs, elevations, dimensions, and involves wiring and installing receptacles, lighting, and switching systems, with an understanding of dimming. Additional tasks include installing and troubleshooting dimming systems, working with condensing units, air handlers, condensate pumps, disconnect switches, end-of-line boxes, cabinets, transformers, meter banks, troughs, and wiremold. The foreman must demonstrate full knowledge of electrical panels, live parts, live work, and electrical safety, and hold NFPA 70E training. A strong understanding of NYC and national electrical codes, load calculations, and familiarity with AWG to MCM is essential.
Responsibilities

• Bend, thread, and install EMT, aluminum, and galvanized pipes.
• Operate pulling machines, threading tools, and hydraulic benders.
• Wire and install fire alarm systems and devices according to NYC FA Code.
• Terminate data cables, including Cat6 and RJ45.
• Read and interpret various electrical drawings and specifications.
• Install and troubleshoot dimming systems and lighting controls.
• Work with HVAC components such as condensing units and air handlers.
• Install disconnect switches, end-of-line boxes, and cabinets.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults, shorts, and poor connections.
• Ensure compliance with NYC and national electrical codes.
• Perform load calculations and understand AWG to MCM.

Essential Skills

• Advanced knowledge of electrical panels and safety protocols.
• NFPA 70E training.
• Strong understanding of NYC & national electrical codes.
• Proficiency in conduit bending and installation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification.
• SST certification.
• Basic knowledge of condensing units and HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with hydraulic benders and conduit bending formulas.
• Ability to work safely and follow instructions without issue.

Work Environment
The work environment is within a large private commercial electrical contractor, focusing on high-end retail and large commercial projects. The start time is 6:00 AM. Employees work with advanced electrical systems and are expected to wear appropriate safety gear and adhere to safety protocols.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00/hr.
