Senior Accountant

Minimum 3+ Years’ experience in Accounting Venteon is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to fill an opening with an Industry Leader and Employer of Choice with headquarters in the Metro Detroit area. The ideal candidate will be a critical contributor to the company’s overall financial success. Requirements of the Senior Accountant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with emphasis in accounting. 3+ years public accounting and or technical accounting experience. C.P.A. preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with FASB, SEC and statutory accounting a plus. Understanding of internal controls, SOX reporting, SEC / External reporting Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Experience in an audit, financial controls, and accounting functions Benefits of the Senior Accountant Bonus Eligible Position LTIP bonus Pension Full time position Currently a hyrid position Paid time off Medical / Dental / Vision 401k Life Insurance Company perks Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant Support the accounting research function for new transactions, including complex transactions such as leases, financial instruments, consolidations and joint ventures; documents conclusions in accounting research and policy memoranda. Participate in the implementation of new accounting pronouncements including participation in cross-functional teams to assess the impact of and implement new accounting guidance. Perform accounting and financial reporting. Perform accounting and financial reporting for complex technical accounting areas. Provide support to parent company, on complex accounting matters, implementation of new accounting standards, and accounting policies for various technical areas. Performs initial review of new contracts to assess financial and accounting implications. Assist with assessing and implementing technology solutions to support the accounting for complex transactions. Supports/coordinates Sarbanes Oxley compliance for certain accounting and research areas. Supports special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed. We treat all resumes with strict confidentiality.
