Summary:

Location: Oshkosh, WI
Schedule: 2nd shift; certification will be on 1st shift

Responsibilities:

Set up, tack, and weld ferrous and nonferrous materials.
Understand and utilize applicable welding procedure specifications.
Perform all welding duties in compliance with applicable welding codes.
Focus on the aesthetic appearance of welds and criticality of application.
Understand and apply applicable weld inspection criteria.
Cut, grind, fit, and bend parts to fit weldments as required.
Clean and deburr welds to satisfy customers and applicable weld codes.
Collaborate with team members to assemble and weld large components.
Perform testing and inspection of welds to meet applicable quality requirements.
Perform weld rework to applicable weld codes and perform weld repairs per accepted procedures.
Salvage and rebuild parts as directed.

Requirements:

Use of complicated drawings, welding symbols, shop mathematics, and weld shop tools such as protractors, scales, squares, and calipers.
Equivalent to four years of high school plus technical training in welding.
Must pass required tests associated with applicable standards, including AWS, ISO, MIL STD, International, ASNT.
GMAW Certification or minimum 3 years of equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills:

Previous experience welding large, heavy industrial equipment.
Experience welding with stainless steel filler metal and associated equipment.
Ability to certify in structural weld - 400 level.
