Position Summary
The Clinician provides compassionate, ethical, and evidence-informed behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Depending on program needs and assignment, the role may include assessments, intake evaluations, individual and family counseling, group services, community education, consultation, and adoption-related services.

Essential Responsibilities 

• Manage an assigned counseling caseload and provide timely, clinically appropriate services consistent with each client’s assessed needs, treatment goals, and service plan. 
• Conduct intake interviews, psychosocial and clinical assessments, treatment planning, ongoing review, discharge planning, and appropriate referrals within the scope of the Clinician’s credentials and assignment. 
• Provide individual, couples, family, and/or group counseling to children, adolescents, or adults, as assigned. 
• Maintain complete, accurate, timely, and confidential electronic health records (EHR) in the required format, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, consents, and discharge documentation. 
• Submit required service statistics, outcome data, productivity information, reports, and other documentation within established deadlines. 
• Assess and respond appropriately to safety concerns and clinical crises, including consultation with a supervisor and coordination with emergency or community resources when indicated. 
• Collaborate, with appropriate authorization, with families, schools, healthcare providers, social service organizations, and other community partners to support continuity of care. 
• Participate in case consultation, clinical supervision, staff meetings, quality-improvement activities, training, and peer collaboration. 
• Support community-based activities, presentations, workshops, and educational programs relevant to the mission and services of the Society. 
• Provide adoption program services, including adoption home studies and related documentation, when assigned and appropriately trained. 
• Maintain professional boundaries and comply with applicable ethical standards, privacy requirements, organizational policies, documentation standards, and state and federal regulations. 
• Maintain the license, certification, or permit required for the position, including completion and documentation of required continuing education. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director, or Executive Director. 

Required Qualifications 

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW); a master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or another mental health profession; or a doctorate (PhD, PsyD, or EdD) in psychology, counseling, or a related mental health discipline. 
• Current eligibility and authorization to practice in New Jersey through one of the following, as applicable to the individual’s discipline: Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or a valid certificate or permit to practice psychology. 
• Relevant counseling or clinical behavioral health experience, including experience appropriate to the population and services assigned. 
• Knowledge of clinical assessment, treatment planning, counseling methods, professional ethics, confidentiality, crisis response, and mandated-reporting responsibilities. 
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with clients, families, colleagues, referral sources, and community partners. 
• Ability to maintain organized, accurate, and timely electronic clinical records and required reports. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience providing services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and/or families in an outpatient or community-based setting. 
• Training or experience in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, strengths-based, and evidence-informed practices. 
• Experience facilitating therapeutic groups, delivering community education, or consulting with partner agencies. 
• Experience with adoption services or home-study preparation, when relevant to the assignment. 
• Familiarity with EHR systems, care coordination, utilization requirements, and outcome measurement. 
• Bilingual or multilingual skills relevant to the communities served.
