Postdoctoral Researcher
National Cancer Institute (NCI)
We’re hiring: Postdoctoral Fellow in Bladder Cancer Genetics and Functional Genomics
A full-time on-site Postdoctoral Fellow position is available at the Laboratory of Translational Genomics, Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics, National Cancer Institute, NIH, in Rockville, Maryland with Dr. Ludmila Prokunina-Olsson.
The successful candidate will investigate how inherited genetic variation contributes to bladder cancer risk by translating signals from a recent large-scale GWAS into biological mechanisms:
Projects will combine human genetics and functional genomics, including:
- CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and CRISPRi/CRISPRa screens
- Massively parallel reporter assays
- Cell-based functional studies in 2D and 3D cultures, iPSCs and organoids
- Flow cytometry, microscopy
- Molecular and computational analysis of candidate risk variants, regulatory elements, genes, and pathways
- In vitro modeling of gene-environment interactions
We are seeking a creative and motivated scientist with recent (not more than 3 years), or nearing completion of, a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in genetics, genomics, cancer biology, molecular biology, or a related field. We value creativity, rigor, curiosity, dedication, team work, great oral and written communication skills and passion to learn and solve problems.
