Edging Technician: Precision Coil Operator

Checking work order, properly select processed material checking for weight, alloy, size and quality. Proper set-up and operation of an edging machine. In process inspect of material to ensure proper quality is maintained. Identify the correct edging tools to utilize. Run material according to specifications of work order. Check material to ensure customer quality requirements are met. Properly identify all edged material and complete all documentation. May require the repair of minor mechanical problems. Group completed coils together by work order in designated area. Maintain work area in a clean and neat fashion. Math aptitude/setup calculations testing Troubleshoot any issues and concerns. Follow ALL safety protocols for the company Required Education and Experience Education and/or experience – High School degree or equivalent preferred. Prior experience or training in a related field or manufacturing environment preferred. Math – Must be able to use and understand simple mathematics, using addition, subtraction, fractions and decimals. Knowledge of the Standard/Imperial measuring system is required, and knowledge of the metric system is a plus. Understanding and use of basic measuring instruments required; micrometers, digital calipers, tape measure is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Work from written specifications and verbal instructions Maintains a good attendance record Overtime and weekend work could be required Ability to work effectively with all other employees Must have good communication skills Continuous process improvement will be required Strong organizational skills The capacity and desire to learn The ability to pass both a pre-employment background and drug screening Experience with mechanical measurement tolls and basic math skills.
