Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN)

• Obtain and record initial assessment, establish priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and needs
• Re-assess patients systematically to identify trends requiring intervention
• Develop and implement measurable individualized care plans
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on patient outcomes
• Engage in patient and family health education and discharge planning
• Implement and document timely interventions
• Evaluate the plan of care and perform Point of Care testing procedures

Requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN)

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications via AHA required
• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing
• Current relevant skills and experience appropriate to the patient population served
• Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients' rights in care delivery
• Clear and concise communication skills appropriate to the developmental age of the patient
