Our client is actively seeking both a Commercial Real Estate Audit Senior and Commercial Real Estate Audit Manager to join their Chicago team. The Commercial Real Estate practice continues to expand, creating immediate need for strong audit talent at both the Senior and Manager level. The role is hybrid in Chicago and offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $110,000 to $160,000 plus bonus, depending on experience. Responsibilities The Commercial Real Estate Audit Senior / Manager will support and lead audit engagements for clients across the real estate industry, including owners, operators, developers, investment groups, and related commercial real estate entities. Key responsibilities include: Perform and/or oversee audit, review, and assurance engagements for commercial real estate clients. Work closely with engagement teams and firm leadership to manage client deliverables, timelines, and audit execution. Review financial statements, workpapers, testing documentation, and audit conclusions for accuracy and compliance. Identify accounting, reporting, and audit issues and provide thoughtful recommendations to clients and internal teams. Build strong client relationships through consistent communication, technical guidance, and high-quality service. For Manager-level candidates, supervise, mentor, and develop audit staff and seniors while helping manage engagement economics and workflow. Ideal Candidate Background Public accounting audit experience with a focus on Commercial Real Estate, Real Estate, REITs, funds, developers, property management, or related real estate clients. Experience performing or managing audit engagements from planning through completion. Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit methodology, financial reporting, and client service best practices. Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Chicago. CPA or CPA eligibility preferred; CPA strongly preferred for Manager-level candidates. Strong communication skills, leadership ability, and desire to grow within a nationally recognized firm. Compensation $110,000 – $160,000 base salary + bonus, depending on experience, level, and qualifications.
